Tennant se retrouve impliquée dans un meurtre après avoir été contactée par un homme qui a été abattu juste avant qu'elle ne le rencontre. Elle comprend très vite que cette histoire est liée à une ancienne mission datant de son époque à la CIA et rend visite à Maggie en prison. L'agent John Swift débarque au NCIS pour suspendre Tennant et reprendre l'enquête.
